Check WLAN networks for security
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor is a powerful tool that allows IT administrators to check the network utilization and security of their company's wireless networks. The tool attempts to break into a secured wireless network by analyzing the wireless environment, detecting radio traffic and conducting an attack to determine the network's WPA/WPA2-PSK password. Thanks to its low-cost, patent-pending GPU acceleration technology and various smart attacks, the tool runs an accelerated attack on the network for a predefined period of time to test the security of the entire wireless environment.
How secure is your wireless network really?
Even a single weak password puts a company's entire Wi-Fi network at risk. Wireless networks can be sufficiently secure if they are configured correctly and appropriate password policies are followed. With Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor, IT administrators can quickly identify threats such as inadequate Wi-Fi security policies and take necessary measures.
If a criminally motivated person gains access to the company network, even on just one computer, they don't even need to be near the network - they can easily spy on your sent and received data remotely. Password hashes are usually stored in the Windows registry and can be recovered remotely for offline analysis.
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor can simulate insider attacks by automatically importing stored hash files created withElcomsoft Proactive System Password RecoveryThis will show you how well your Wi-Fi network is protected against insider attacks.
Built-in WiFi sniffer
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor comes with a custom NDIS driver for 32-bit and 64-bit systems (Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10). The driver is digitally signed by Microsoft, which
full compatibility and seamless installation on computers running the latest Windows 10 builds. By automatically intercepting Wi-Fi traffic and attacking selected Wi-Fi networks, Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor provides a complete solution for auditing Wi-Fi networks. To enable Wi-Fi sniffing, WinPCap drivers are required. The WinPCap driver is included in Wireless Security Auditor. Additionally, AirPCap adapters are supported, provided the correct drivers are installed.
Simulating a Wi-Fi password attack
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor checks the security of your Wi-Fi network by attempting to break into the network from the outside or inside. The software works as a wireless sniffer or operates offline by analyzing dump files to determine WPA/WPA2-PSK passwords in plain text.
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor allows you to perform a password audit within a limited time frame. Always at the cutting edge of technology, Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor is one of the fastest, smartest and most advanced wireless password discovery tools. If Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor is unable to discover a wireless password within a given time frame, the network is classified as 'secure'.
Notes
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor includes an integrated NDIS driver for 32- and 64-bit Windows systems (Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10), and the necessary WinPCap drivers are installed automatically. Most wireless adapters are supported. NDIS drivers are digitally signed by Microsoft.
Tcpdump support: The tool can use a Tcpdump log that can be produced by a third-party WiFi sniffer. There must be at least one handshake data packet in a Tcpdump file to check the security of a WiFi network.
AirPCap support: Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor supportsAirPCap adapter. The correct drivers must be installed for this.
Acceleration and Distributed Attacks
ElcomSoft has developed numerous software innovations that make it easier to find passwords from various sources. For the first time, ElcomSoft's patented GPU acceleration enables time-saving Wi-Fi password discovery, which can be up to 100 times faster. Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor supports up to 4 NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards, allowing the creation of cost-effective forensic supercomputers.
You can use Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery to perform a full-powered attack on Wi-Fi passwords. Since it can run on multiple computers simultaneously, Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery is able to use all available resources (CPU and GPU processing power) to crack a Wi-Fi password. If your password cannot be determined after a sufficiently long distributed attack, you can consider your network 'secure'.
Attack types
Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor detects highly configurable attacks based on knowledge of human nature. Advanced word list attacks are combined with mutations to uncover weak passwords consisting of words or colloquial phrases. The variable mutations of word list entries allow hundreds of variations of each word, thus covering the broadest possible base.
Elcomsoft Wiremess Security Auditor supports highly configurable mutations. These mutations include digits and special characters, "hacker speak" and years, character substitutions, and much more. The tool can combine words from multiple word lists, and adds a number of highly intelligent attacks to crack all non-random passwords faster.
